Bar fight

If you wanna really feel a city go to a bar full of locals. Yesterday after class i went out with one of the teachers to grab some drinks. Very interesting to see that at bars people are full on dancing at 5:30 p.m with laser beams and all haha music was regaton. Couple of tequila shots and beers after decide its too loud and leave. I was the only gringo in the bar even though we were out in la mariscal which is supposed to be 'gringo land'. We leave walk around and hit a cery chill spanish rock pub with only beer to serve. When u walk in there are probably 5 signs all over the place saying no fumar, yet everyone inside this bar is smoking, welcome to south america where rules are just a formality :) so grab beers and sit down. Next to us there is a huge group of ecuadorian rockers. Again i am the only gringo in the bar. At some point one of the guys grabs this other dude and throws him out shouting something at him and telling him to go home. The guy that was thrown out comes back and sits down. A bit later the angry guy gets up again grabs him and starts punching him they fall on our table break our beers they throw a cpl of punches and they beaten guy goes home. Now everyone on that table comes to us saying so sorry and booom they found out im egyptian they freak out grab their chairs sit with us and we becomr friends haha, they start giving me numbers of ppl in peru and bolivia. Go out for a steak after then crash. Today im goin to easter parade. They call it Semana Santa.

Holaaaa Quito!

Arrived in Quito in one piece. Plane ride was bit of disaster as usual. When were over central America Colombia had some malfunctioning flight monitoring systems so they decided to shut their air space :( we didn't have enough fuel to change route so captain decided to emergency land in panama to refuel. Refueled then was able to take new route to Quito. I just dont get good planes these days. So arrive quito at midnight go to the family im stayin at and crash straight away , it felt like a cross atlantic flight. Wake up have a great. Breakfast prepared by the Senora of the house and head to Spanish class. Good school, good teacher, have a 4 hr session then roam the city. Infrastrcture Similar to Egypt in many ways but landscape is insane it is basically a city enveloped by huge green mountains, very vancouverish. Lots of clouds at tip of the mountains, very mystical city for a capital. Decide to grab. Bite so walk into restaurante 'palermo'. I know this country was cheap but not like this. Soup, open buffet salad, a dish of meat with rice along with guava juice and also a slice of watermelon for dessert . $2.40 . :) this trip is gonna be a food fiesta. Walk some more then head back home to rest. Sitting on balcony writing this and taking in the mountainous view. Survived first day. Hasta luego
